To reconcile children with their guardians and to provide a home for those without, as well as ensure that they lead a brighter future, by being responsible members of the society.
Gates of Hope is a registered 501©3 organization involved in providing shelter, food, education and medical care to destitute and abandoned children. Our mission is to ensure that these children will be able to lead a brighter future and be stable and responsible members of the society. We are currently situated at a place called Kagondo about 20 km from Nairobi, Kenya.
Gates of Hope currently cares for 35 children between the ages of 4 and 23 years-old. The majority of these children come from the streets, while others are orphans whose relatives (mostly grandparents) are too old to look after them. We have a strong and dedicated staff that ensures the children’s daily needs are met.
A Day in the Life of...Mary Muriithi
Gates of Hope started in 1985, when I started ministering to the children in the streets of Nairobi. I started with those who were living in the streets, feeding and clothing them as well as sharing the word of God with them.
